Romania has long been targeted by American and other fundamentalists. Yet again we see that once fundamentalists get influence in the political process censorship (and its handmaiden, ignorance) creeps in. As I have long believed, they don't want freedom of religion. They just want freedom for their religious opinion. A monolithic theocracy with them in charge so that they can save souls.

Thje fundamentalists are emitting another nasty pong again.

I wonder what Ian Lowe has to say about this.

At least in Northern Ireland, Peter, you have a stunning and hard-headed vibrancy in politics these days. I suspect that the creationists' targeting of the province illustrates just how weak they are in the British Isles in general. It is the last place they could possibly hope to acheive some kind of "consensus" in.
