Darwin Shrewsbury Festival - shrewd or eschewed?

Postby a_haworthroberts » Mon Feb 05, 2018 11:18 pm

As flagged over the pond at Sensuous Curmudgeon:

I don't know who this Anthony Bennett is (there used to be a Ukip politician of that name) but he's not the creationist who often writes to the Shropshire Star that being David Burton.
According to Bennett - who is not keen on the forthcoming Darwin Shrewsbury Festival - “No creature or plant can ‘improve’ its stock of DNA. It simply inherits its DNA from its parents. No new information is generated. The question therefore is: “Who gave us our DNA in the first place?”

But for the fact that this chap is currently based in Yorkshire, he could be your man:

He comes across as a trainee Anglican vicar. However, if he is your man he seems to be an OEC judging by a post at the bottom of that page.

Thanks. It's certainly possible it's this Anthony Bennett, but I think (even if I did bet) I would probably not put money on it because as you say he is not local:

I almost forgot - "Happy Darwin Day" to all members and browsers!
I haven't, btw, seen any mention in the news of the fact that today's the day. Apart from Ashley's links, that is.
