Disco Tute comes clean at last!

A Marriage Made in Heaven
Commons.Wedding bells are ringing in Seattle, Washington, and Richardson, Texas: the Discovery Institute and the Foundation for Thought and Ethics are getting hitched! They’ve had a long and surprisingly secretive courtship, but we at NCSE are glad to see these crazy kids doing the honest thing.

In an IRS filing, FTE supplied a promotional pamphlet, “What is the Foundation for Thought and Ethics,” which declared:

The Foundation for Thought and Ethics has been established to introduce a Biblical perspective into the mainstream of America’s humanistic society, confronting the secular thought of modern man with the truth of God’s Word.

The pamphlet also describes the project that became Of Pandas and People as “a two-model high school biology textbook that will fairly and impartially give scientific evidences for creation side by side with evolution.” Elsewhere in those founding documents they proclaimed plans for a book “showing the scientific evidence for creation.”

Yer, looks like the money has run out. The only surprise is that the Disco Tute didn't disappear into oblivion years ago. What happened to its research arm, the Biologic Institute or something?

It's not the only creationist outfit that is disappearing. C4ID looks to be defunct and Truth in Science looks to be the same old bunch of tired hands from a decade or more ago. It's doing precisely nothing. Even our beloved friend David Anderson appears to have quit being a failed pastor and has disappeared into oblivion as well. Still, being chased out of Kenya at gun point whilst wearing a dog collar appears to something of an achievement for his efforts.

Paul has just pointed out by email to me that Casey Luskin has announced that he is leaving the Discovery Institute. A rat leaving a sinking ship?
