Republican candidates mostly creationists

Postby Brian Jordan » Tue Nov 03, 2015 12:05 pm

USA ront-runner Republican candidate for President, Ben Carson, has been revealed as a creationist.

Meanwhile, Richard Dawkins has pointe out in a TV interview in the USA that all but one of Carson's Republican challengers are similarly deluded.
Prominent atheist Richard Dawkins lamented over the weekend that Republican presidential candidates were still denying that evolution was a fact.

“This fills me with despair,” Dawkins explained to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria. “This is not something you believe in or not. I mean, this is a fact. It is a fact. It’s just as much of a fact as the Earth goes around the Sun. You can’t not believe it unless you’re ignorant.”

The British biologist added that he did not believe that all of the Republican candidates were ignorant.

“I believe what they’re doing is they think that they’ve got to say that in order to appeal to their constituency,” he observed. “And if that’s true, it’s deeply depressing.”

Dawkins noted that Ben Carson’s belief in creationism was especially troubling because the candidate was a former neurosurgeon.

“You just told me all the Republican candidates except one don’t believe in evolution,” Dawkins pointed out to Zakaria. “I mean, that’s a disgrace. But for a very senior eminent distinguished doctor as he is to say that is even worse. Because of course, evolution is the bedrock of biology and biology is the bedrock of medicine.”

“He clearly doesn’t understand the fundamental theorem of his own subject,” he continued. “That is a terrible indictment.”

They're also all climate change sceptics/deniers as well, though the caviat about them being 'believers' versus what they are told to say by their polling consultants applies....

Carson is an OEC not a YEC. Dawkins has said that he even quite likes him:

Whereas Trump is a ******. Even if he is not any sort of creationist.

Well ex-Big Ken Scam is endorsing Donland Dump. Presumably he thinks Dump will do no end of good for his unfunded Ark Encounter project which currently still consists of two short, thick planks.

Alas ex-Big Ken can't vote for Dump as he is still a Banana Bender, lacking US citizenship.

According to the Washington Post Carson is a YECer.

Both of Roger's posts conflict with things I have read online (assuming that those writing them were telling the truth)!

https://answersingenesis.org/ministry-n ... henomenon/ (see final two sentences)
(Or is the confusion that Ham won't get to choose a preferred Republican candidate in a state primary but merely decide whether or not to vote for THE Republican candidate in next November's Presidential election?)

(I will check out Roger's link though.)

It looks as if Carson is just plain barmy:
Ben Carson: Egyptian pyramids were grain stores, not pharaohs' tombs

Republican presidential hopeful stands by remarks made in 1998, but criticised ‘scientists’ who he said claimed pyramids were built by ‘alien beings’

Apart from nueroscience, he appears to not know anything and is completely lacking in intellectual curiosity. Moreover, he's also a fantacist.
