Religious Extremism and Abu Hamza

Postby Roger Stanyard » Tue May 20, 2014 11:15 am

Something personal:

Abu Hamza seems to have got what he deserved. My peronal opinion may be biased. The US jury came down against him on the killng of four tourists in the Yemen in 1988. One of the tourists there was Laurence Whatehouse (his wife, Magaret, was killed). Laurence was the best teacher I ever had. He taught economics at the grammar school I went to and got me through A Level economics in a term and a half. I got a grade A as well which got me into UCL. Laurence also taught me scepticism about economics - Keynesianism (had its day), Monetarism (circular argument) and Marxist economics (largely wrong). Laurence has retired now but has remarried. He's been in the news a lot following the Hamza verdict.
