It didn't take long for the Independent reporter to connected to Adnan Oktar and therefore US Christian fundamentalists who, incidentally, hate Islam. The report, though, isn't entirely clear that the bulk of the opposition came from students within Imperial or outside. If it's the former, then there is a good case for the Students Union withdrawing the Ismalic Society's funding for bringing the university into disrepute.

Perhaps its time for all science courses to have a compulsory evolution component that has to be passed! Certainly all biology, medicine, vet medicine, biochemistry courses. If students do not want to accept science there are thousands of other courses they can do.

Leeds University introduced such compulsory courses around 2007 because of the rising influence of creationism.

Good and it should be passed on to the other universities as a model of good practice and to let the creationist loonies know that it is part of science and they cannot mess with science anywhere. Oldest child has already had bits of evolution thrown at her. It seems to be the way in which they got to understand things like bones and locomotion and development. Thats in just 1/15th of her course.
