I suppose it was only a matter of time! That makes the Jesmond bid a little bit more likely if they use the Exemplar opportunity.

Idiot Gove, it'd be less damaging if he just took all the money he's wasting and burnt it on a big bonfire! Even better if he threw himself on top.

According to the Grauniad, Gove is rumored to be for the chop in September's cabinet reshuffle.

Looks like they are doing everything they can to appear ok.
http://www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk/view/ ... ism-claims

Part of which states
Mr Adams, who is the proposed chairman of governors of the new school, is not a member of the church and is not a Christian.

He said the three other governors so far proposed were also non-Christians and would not want creationism taught to their children.

Only one church member, Mr Paul Bosomworth, who has expertise in finance, is now involved in the core project team after a radical restructure as a result of the failure of the first bid.

However the comments underneath look interesting. One points out Daniel Adams has had a role with ECC
believe Mr Adam is or was working for Lindum the developers of the Jessop Way business park and so built the Everyday Champions church on one of these plots. It is possible that his interest in the project is to secure a lucrative construction contract for Lindum. If millions of tax payers money is to be spent on a new school (after an initial phase in temporary accommodation) then a full and fair tendering competition should be carried out, showing no favouritism to Lindum.

Which is answered to be fair.

There are also rather a lot of comments asking the question why the school would still have a 'religious' ethos if so many of the board members are now NON christians and unconnected with the church. Those aren't really answered tho. A new website should be up and running soon. But I can't see any creationist loon changing its creationist loon spots myself.

And this question was also interesting in the comments
thanks for the response Daniel.
But as you are very aware the parental supporters signed up EVEN BEFORE the initial bid was rejected because of the whacky creationist beliefs, correct?
So now the school has been jettisoned from the project why does a christian ethos remain? Is The preacher of creationism Gareth Morgan still involved in the school project?

Which wasn't answered and it would appear that the person doing the quesioning had already put similar questions to creationist looney loon and pastro Gareth Morgan, where they were also ignored.

Interestingly the link I found before listing Gareth Morgan as a director has changed slightly. It now says he resigned in Feb? That wasn't there before was it? Why do creationist things keep mysteriously altering?

Paul Bossomworth the so called remaining member of the creationist church is listed here
http://www.company-director-check.co.uk ... /916032011
Where it appears he is also linked to something called the Reachout Community Church.

The other director linked to Exemplar also seems to have links to this Reachout Community Church. Michael John Sivers. So out of the three directors two are clearly some kind of christian! So anyone heard of Reachout?

Only Daniel Adams is new by the way. The others were on board for the original creationist bid last May 2011.

As far as I can make out, the school belongs to the company. Which is controlled by the directors. Who can appoint and dismiss the governors - with the probable exception of parent governors and the one (or more if they're considered naughty) who Gove can appoint if he feels so inclined.
The Articles of Association refer to members of the Academy Trust - which seems to be just another term for the Limited Company in this case - and these seem to be the directors of the company plus the chairman of the governors. All four, in order to obtain their power over the millions of pounds we'll be giving them to play with, must pledge not more than £10, payable if the company goes bust. They appoint most of the governors, who can themselves co-opt additional governors.

Finally looks like their website is up and running. Nothing at all about curriculums tho. But it seems that applicants will get a free blazer and tie! How much money have they got exactly?

Maybe Gove said they could spend some of the free money on heating or clothing.
