Academic journals - some free access

Postby Brian Jordan » Sun Feb 05, 2012 6:57 pm

JSTOR are running an experiment with limited open access to some academic journals. Of possible interest to forum members are:
American Anthropologist
Journal of Geology
Philosophical Transactions: Biological Sciences
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America
Proceedings: Biological Sciences
and there are 67 more in a very wide-ranging selection. You have to register to get a limited number of reads per month - but let's hope it catches on.
Thanks to crabsallover from humanists4science who found the details here:

PS: it's in spreadsheet format. I can try to turn it into Word or rtf and email or pm it to anyone who can't read it.

JSTOR is an excellent resource though it does seem to mainly comprise a lot of obscure, old and defunct titles. However, given the propensity of creationists to site old and obscure journal articles it may be no bad thing. Folklore and Past & Present, a history journal, both available on JSTOR also provide some interesting material.
