"Grand Canyon formed in a matter of minutes"

Postby Brian Jordan » Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:14 am

Come back Andy McIntosh? Is all forgiven? I fear not.
The enormous gully - so big that locals have called it 'the Grand Canyon of Durham' - is believed to have been formed in a matter of minutes when millions of gallons of floodwater from surrounding farmland suddenly tore through the soil towards the River Wear.
A flash flood washed farmland away, didn't carve through a vast thickness of rock.

There are the inevitable comments
It really amazes me that a comment about "The Flood" in Noah's time should get so many 'red' clicks! Is it not about time that agnostics wakened up to the real evidence of what flood water can do? Modern scientific findings are regularly questioning the validity of much of the earlier hypothesis of 'science' so-called!
The comment which got such a poor response was
Ancient river bed? Nonsense. ITs the destructive force of water running over ground. Makes one wonder if there is a relationship with the Great Flood and the grand canyon.
Worryingly, this came from someone with an Asian-sounding name. Are McIntosh's loony ideas spreading beyond his own Christian fundamentalist bailiwick?

Nice picture, though.

Remember that you read it here first!
Paul Taylor wrote:A quickly formed canyon in England provides clues to how the Grand Canyon and other geological features formed recently—and not over millions of years.

Good grief, what an utter toss pot Paul Taylor is. Even by the standards of creationists, he isn't very bright.
