People gradually realised exactly what it is that science and rational thought are actually up against.


That's always a big problem Mark, even in NI. Teaching "both sides" of the argument seems fair enough until people realise what creationism (YECism) actually is. In a way, the YECs often shoot themelves in the foot here. The flare ups in NI really do show how daft their ideas are.
