New forum member ACLINSLEY has posted a critique of Ussher's age calculations in the Bob Sorenson thread in Conversations with Creationists forum.
It might be of interest to readers of this forum.

Thanks, Brian, for calling this to readers' attention.

The genealogies of Genesis 4,5 and 11 are king lists, and many of the "names" are actually royal titles. This is not evident in the Hebrew, but it becomes evident when we place these rulers in their proper Nilo-Saharan context.

Interesting, and probably not that surprising, given the importance ruling families have placed on recording genealogies as a way of demonstrating their right to rule.

Thank you Alice, as well. It seems that what you are suggesting is that many YECers like Ken Ham are pretty ignorant of theology and the Bible.

The 900 year plus human lifespans in Genesis are also open to debate. These alone would put Ussher's calculations way off.

I'm not sure how Alice would interpret these, but some have suggested they were using lunar months instead of years.
