I refuse point blank to put RealPlayer on my PC, as it has caused unending grief (crashes, BSODs etc).
I've tried the RealAlternative, but it isn't loaded when using a URL link to play a file, it just keeps asking for RealPlayer.

unfortunately the link is only applicable until the next programme in the series is broadcast (it now points to the interview with Jonathon Sachs - Chief Rabbi).

I recommend Classic Media Player. It's free, and it doesn't keep trying to
sell you stuff, or installing stuff you don't want.
