Rabble rouser Ken Ham and his biased Facebook fans

Creationist bloggers can be infuriating. If one has infuriated you by persisting in nonsense even when corrected, or refusing to reply to your criiticsm, you may feel driven to recording the fact. If so, you may register your disapproval here and hope a response is forthcoming.

Ham is deservedly getting slammed for his false 'amateur scientist' claims about Dawkins yesterday:
http://www.facebook.com/aigkenham
Though I expect somebody will be along soon to 'cleanse' the thread...
Which at present includes a list of all the past science papers Dawkins has been a co-author of, and the enquiry "I was unable to find any published academic works from you Ken. Where might one find them".

Ham sounds like the ignorant fellow who sneered that Dawkins hasn't got an earned Ph.D., only a D.Phil. and a D.Sc.

More fictional garbage about Comet ISON:
http://www.answersingenesis.org/get-ans ... n-campaign

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scattered_disc#Comets
http://www.sciencemag.org/content/307/5706/71.abstract
http://www.cometison2013.co.uk/ison-fact-sheet/

"Comets like ISON present problems for evolutionists...". No - they are a PROBLEM for young Earth creationists who want evolutionists/old earth creationists to have the 'problems'. And who lie that comets 'cannot' originate in the Kuiper Belt or Oort Cloud so these must not exist as comet sources/ at all (even though astronomers now say the short period comets mostly originate from the Scattered Disc which they are certain does exist). And the usual smug lie that for YECs "there is no problem".

If God created stars and the other solar system planets 'instantly' as in Genesis, why do comets and asteroids exist at all? Pass.

Ken Ham Guardian reader

"2 Peter 3 teaches us about scoffers who will scoff at those who believe Jesus is returning. These scoffers will:
1. Be willingly ignorant (they deliberately reject the truth)
2. Reject creation
3. Reject the global Flood of Noah's Day
I thought of the 2 Peter 3 scoffers as I read this article from the Guardian newspaper in the UK. Yes, the author is a willingly ignorant scoffer".
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Peter+3

Ken Ham is NOT willingly ignorant because those who criticise his anti-scientific dogma ARE. (Though AiG feel the need to censor and ban critics from their Facebook pages, so they must be 'willingly' informed.)

Ken Ham has a new comet video 'Where do comets come from?' (Part 3 of a series.) I'll wage that he does not answer his own question.

Message as sent to AiG:

"Just listened to Part 3 of a video by Mr Ham about comets.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152037614782359
Mr Ham tells a pack of lies and fails even to answer his own question. Totally pathetic. Where DO comets come from Mr Ham?
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2967&p=47724#p47724
No wonder he lectures scientists in his blogs but is afraid to debate a single one."

IF ISON is a dud, not my wish, then perhaps it's because it does not wish to be an icon for the Creation Museum :)

Ken Ham is continuing his worldwide crusade against inconvenient science, especially targeted at gullible youngsters. Not that it's only gullible youngsters that this man has hoodwinked.

Indeed Ashley, surprised this hasn't found it's way onto the Panda's Thumb etc.

Shows how desperate the man is if this is how low he stoops.

Wide circulation email as sent:

"Ken Ham and Comet ISON - one of them is lying.
Mr Ham is proclaiming Comet ISON to be confirmation of a 'young universe' online and at his Creation Museum.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152037614782359 (can anyone spot an 'Answer' here?)
http://www.answersingenesis.org/get-ans ... n-campaign
I think someone with influence in the USA - such as Bill Nye, Richard Dawkins, Hugh Ross, Francis Collins, David Montgomery, P Z Myers, Paul Braterman, Don Prothero, or another well-read blogger/author/scientist - should politely slap him down for this deliberate attempt to mislead Christians and the uninformed general public.
By explaining exactly how scientists infer where the various types of comet seen from Earth come from - Scattered Disk or Oort Cloud - and pointing out that when comets are beyond Neptune they are not losing mass and 'burning up' because they are so far from the Sun and thus they can last 'indefinitely'.
Mr Ham claims that his critics do not properly understand science (and he does). Thus he should be amenable to a scientific explanation.
Mr A Haworth-Roberts"

Comets are very unpredictable. Unlike young Earth or biblical creationists.

Comets are very unpredictable
.

Only long period comets Ashley.

Short period comets are entirely predictable.

Given what astronomers now know about the Kuiper Belt and the Oort cloud, I'm constantly surprised they're still using this one.

I was meaning it was unpredictable how bright they might appear as viewed from Earth (not when they will arrive and so forth).

There's more comet anti-science here I see (though Danny Faulkner does not appear to be such a blatant liar as Jason Lisle):

What's that object pointing away from the light?

It must be Comet Ken.

http://blogs.answersingenesis.org/blogs ... Ken+Ham%29

I've just sent a second email:

"Ken Ham and Comet ISON - one of them is lying AGAIN.

http://blogs.answersingenesis.org/blogs ... paign=Feed%
3A+KenHam+%28Around+the+World+with+Ken+Ham%29
"'Comet ISON - Evidence of a Young Universe.'" Liar. We have a very
old universe and we have comets.
"Comets like ISON are problems for evolutionists ...". Liar. However
supernovae refute young Earth creationism.
"I encourage you to read the full article on our website so that you
too will be equipped to share with your friends and family how Comet
ISON is evidence that the universe is young and that ultimately the
universe was created by the God of the Bible". This is not science. It
is religion, indoctrination and anti-science. Besides the Bible does
not mention comets and it is odd that they should exist at all if
Earth, the stars and the planets and our moon were 'instantly' created
and are not formed from the same lot of material that originally
surrounded our Sun when it was still young.

For all I know, the Christian god is real.

That is not the issue.

Comet ISON is NOT 'evidence of a young universe' and Mr Ham is undermining science in order to try and make his opinion look correct.
