The piss was taken out of creationists in free schools on tonight's news quiz on radio four and again on the comic relief sketch with Steven Hawking, David Williams and Catherine Tate ha ha. Now they're officially a joke.

AiG or CMI couldn't have done this any better:

They'd better get it right otherwise Ken Ham will complain.

Ex-Big Ken Scam doesn't so much as complain as foam at the mouth. ;-)

Just for the record, no relative of mine - so far as I know - was involved in the making of this film!

https://answersingenesis.org/reviews/movies/noahs-ark/ (this - not read - refers to the BBC drama which I will probably also skip; I read somewhere that the film is based partly on the Koran as well as the Bible so no surprise that AiG are not entirely happy)

I'm not sure which is which, these "Mysteries of" and the "Secrets of". One of them is American and total rubbish - I think it's the latter. i watched one thinking it would be the excellent Prof. from Exeter, but far from it. I'll try to sample the (?) Mysteries.
The Big Question rarely leaves me satisfied and often cross. ISTR that a recent episode (this one?) was particularly castigated elsewhere in the last day or two.

Up Coming TV

As discussed on tonight's 'One Show'. The usual suspects will be appalled by the millions of years, the claim that the bristles/quills were feathers - and possibly by the detail about how to sex a dinosaur fossil also.

Don't they realise that this is all make-believe and that you need an infallible eye-witness ie the God of the Bible and his Genesis/Job accounts to know the truth about dinosaurs ie this is all historical science and it is not observational science?!

Excelent evolution programme

Postby Brian Jordan » Wed Jun 10, 2015 7:39 pm

This was on last night and I only found the second half by accident. Well worth watching and probably recording too. As I shall have to do if i want to see the first half.
Your Inner Fish: An Evolution Story - 1. Your Inner Fish

Neil Shubin travels from America to the Arctic Circle to connect our lungs, arms, legs and hands to a prehistoric fish that crawled onto land 375 million years ago.

Yes, that Shubin programme was interesting. They found Tiktaalik after narrowing down which potentially highly suitable area (an area in the far north of Canada) to search in that contained fossil preserving rocks of the required geological period ie the Devonian.

There's one more repeat due on BBC Four, though around 1.20 am in the morning on Friday if I recall correctly.

Hopefully, these will still be on the iplayer when I get home from Bulgaria next Tuesday.

All look very interesting, though I'm surprised the YECs haven't kicked up a stink.

It should be - iplayer now keeps programmes from the last 30 days.

Last night's TV

No Pope (though he gets a brief mention), but two of American conservatism and creationism's other most prominent bêtes noires of our time - Obama and Attenborough (and on the liberal BBC as well):

What an improbable combination. In fact, when I was told I''d just missed it I thought I'd miss-heard and it was Dimbleby, not Attenborough! Why that pairing?
